Attorneys will learn how to evaluate and integrate essential tools—including VOIP systems, practice-management platforms, and passive time-tracking software—while considering workflow compatibility, client confidentiality, data security, and the ethical responsibilities involved in selecting and using legal technology.

Turn an overloaded inbox into an organized system for managing client communications, deadlines, and daily responsibilities. This hands-on session explores Outlook organization, automated rules, email-management practices, and Microsoft Power Automate. Attorneys will learn how to reduce missed communications, protect confidential information, and create repeatable processes that support competent and timely representation.

Successful automation begins with a well-designed process. Attorneys will learn how to map common law-office workflows, identify inefficiencies, and create consistent procedures for opening, managing, and closing matters. The session also examines matter-specific checklists, pleading and document templates, quality-control measures, and the importance of preserving attorney judgment and supervision throughout the process.

Discover how automation platforms such as Zapier can connect the technology already used in a law practice. Through practical examples involving client intake, onboarding, scheduling, document collection, and matter management, attorneys will learn how to create cross-platform automations while addressing confidentiality, data security, accuracy, and appropriate human oversight.

This 60-minute wellness session explores how regular physical activity enhances an attorney’s ability to competently perform legal services. Participants will learn the science-backed benefits of aerobic exercise, strength training, stretching, yoga, balance work, and other accessible forms of movement. The session highlights how exercise reduces stress, sharpens cognition, boosts decision-making, and supports emotional resilience—key components of competent legal practice. One wellness credit may be available, subject to approval by each state’s CLE accrediting authority.

Law firms increasingly rely on multigenerational teams to remain effective, resilient, and competitive. Leading such teams requires intentional management strategies that go beyond legal expertise. This CLE program examines the challenges and opportunities presented by generational diversity in law firms and provides practical guidance for managing growth, talent development, and team performance. Participants will explore strategies for hiring at the appropriate time, integrating new attorneys and staff, fostering engagement and productivity across generations, and addressing common obstacles that affect collaboration and firm sustainability. The program is designed for attorneys with leadership, supervisory, or management responsibilities who seek to strengthen their firms through effective people and practice management.  One law practice management credit may be available, subject to approval by each state’s CLE accrediting authority.

Walk at a relaxed pace along the historic cobblestone streets during this Old San Juan food tour. Culinary-focused experience, guests will be led by a knowledgeable guide throughout the historic and charming city. The guide will share their knowledge on the gastronomy, history, and architecture of Puerto Rico. Stopping along the way at different locations, guests will have the chance to taste and sip local flavors. Includes stops for food and drinks at 4 locations.

Departure from the hotel to the Caribbean National Rainforest, known as “El Yunque”: the only tropical forest in the United States National Forest System. Many of the views you will see are the same ones that dazzled the first Spanish explorers over 500 years ago. You will see 1000-year-old trees, exotic rainbow-colored flowers and thick vines with large masses of lush red flowers swaying in the cool breeze. From the heart of this impressive beauty, you will hear the incessant, yet delicious, two-note song of the “Coquí”, the chatter of tropical birds and possibly the quacking of the endangered Puerto Rican parrot.

At lunchtime you’ll be on your own to choose from a variety of local restaurants that are located on our way to the Balneario La Monserrate in Luquillo Beach. Luquillo is considered one of the best and most beautiful beaches in Puerto Rico. It is located very close to the entrance of El Yunque National Forest. It has an extensive coast; its waters are calm and crystalline, and the sand is very soft. There are a lot of palm trees and trees along the coast so you can choose your favorite spot and take a dip in its crystal clear waters. Wear your swimsuit under your clothes.

Learn how to operate an effective virtual or hybrid law practice without sacrificing client service, supervision, or security. This session covers virtual staffing, VOIP systems, remote-work procedures, and the use of tools such as Scribe and Loom to document processes and create training resources. Attorneys will also examine their responsibilities for supervising employees and contractors who handle client information or assist with legal work.

Explore how technology can create a more responsive and organized path from prospective-client inquiry to engagement. Attorneys will examine digital marketing systems, online scheduling, intake procedures, lead follow-up, and communication workflows. The session will address practical safeguards involving conflicts screening, prospective-client confidentiality, accurate communications, and the responsible use of automation during the intake process.

Examine the professional-responsibility duties that apply when attorneys use artificial intelligence, automation, cloud platforms, and virtual personnel. The session will address technological competence, confidentiality, vendor and staff supervision, data security, candor, and verification of technology-assisted work. Attorneys will apply the relevant ethical principles to realistic law-practice scenarios and develop practical safeguards for the responsible use of emerging technology.

Unexpected events can disrupt even the most carefully managed legal practices. This CLE program provides practical guidance for protecting clients, maintaining ethical compliance, and ensuring continuity of representation when illness, emergencies, or other unforeseen absences occur. Participants will learn actionable strategies for succession and contingency planning, safeguarding client matters, and reducing professional and business risk so their practices remain secure, responsive, and compliant—no matter what life brings. This program will satisfy the general CLE.

This course explores how trauma—both personal and vicarious—can affect an attorney’s performance, decision-making, competence, and ethical obligations. Attendees will gain a foundational understanding of how trauma impacts the brain and behavior, recognize indicators of trauma in themselves, and learn how to apply trauma-informed strategies that promote competence, professionalism, and well-being. The session introduces a six-step trauma-informed framework that individuals and organizations can use to strengthen resilience and client service. This presentation is relevant to all attorneys and legal professionals, with particular value for those practicing in areas that frequently involve exposure to traumatic events, including family law, criminal law, personal injury, immigration, civil rights, bankruptcy, trusts and estates, and related fields. This course will satisfy ethics and/or competency-prevention and detection.  One ethics credit may be available, subject to approval by each state’s CLE accrediting authority.
