Michelle Coady is the founder of Coady Law Office and serves as Public Guardian and Public Administrator for multiple Illinois counties by appointment of Governor J.B. Pritzker. Her educational journey began at Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial/ Organizational Psychology. She then went on to pursue her legal education at the University of Missouri School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctorate. Michelle went on to receive her Mediation Certification from the College of DuPage in DuPage, Illinois. Her academic achievements have laid a strong foundation for her legal career, providing her with the knowledge and skills necessary to advocate for her clients in various legal matters. With more than 20 years of experience in civil litigation, child welfare, adoption, probate, and estate administration, she is widely recognized for advocating for both disabled adults and children from hard places. She approaches her practice with a trauma informed approach with both clients in the foster care and adoption arena as well as in adult guardianships. Michelle manages complex guardianships and estates involving adults with disabilities and mental health challenges and has successfully leveraged automation to streamline her solo practice while maintaining exceptional client service.
